Driven by Coffee,
Led by Stella
A behind-the-scenes look at Zenith Coffee and the woman behind the wheel.
Zenith Coffee Co. has quickly become an NWA staple.
Run out of a converted school bus (I know, so cool), Zenith Coffee Co. is led by Stella, who’s all about making good-for-you coffee without all the added sugar you find at most spots.
Every drink is under 15g of sugar, made without syrups, and without sacrificing the flavor.
(Pssst.. if you’re a syrup lover, they’ve got you too!)
I was curious about how it all started, so I asked Stella a few questions about what inspired her to start Zenith, how she thinks about flavor and health, and what it’s really like running a coffee shop out of a bus.
Here’s what she shared:
Why did you decide to start Zenith Coffee?
S: I think my answer might surprise people, I’m actually allergic to coffee! But through all the jobs I’ve worked, the ones I loved most were the ones where I got to love people well. There’s something so creative and intentional about a thoughtfully crafted cup of coffee. And I realized the only thing that makes coffee even better is kind, genuine human connection. That’s what Zenith is all about.
How did your love for coffee start, and how has it changed since launching Zenith?
S: My love for coffee actually started at 7brew! But after a while, I began experiencing major health issues from how much sugar was in the drinks. That’s what pushed me to explore more natural, creative ways to make coffee delicious, without all the junk. Since starting Zenith, I’ve fallen in love with quality beans, unique flavor pairings, and yes… I even became a black coffee girl (something I never thought I’d say!).
Why did you decide to start Zenith Coffee?
S: I think people are often surprised by how deeply personal Zenith is to me. It’s not just a coffee business — it’s a reflection of how I view the world: with love, creativity, and a belief that something as simple as a drink can turn someone’s day around.
What’s something people don’t see that goes into running this kind of business?
S: The grit. Starting Zenith has taken more than creativity — it’s taken hustle. I average maybe two full days off a month. On the days we’re closed, I’m either sending cold-call emails, making Sam’s runs, or grinding on social media. You’ll find me bundled up in the bus when it’s 18 degrees outside, still showing up because I believe in this so deeply. That’s why supporting small businesses matters. Behind every cup is a dream someone is fighting for. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
What’s a risk you’re proud of taking, even if it didn’t go perfectly?
S: Honestly? Starting Zenith. The moment I let go of the fear of people making fun of me, everything shifted. I stepped into a new level of confidence and purpose, and even when things didn’t go perfectly, I kept showing up. That shift changed my life.
What are you trying to create for your customers, beyond just an amazing cup of coffee?
S: More than anything, I hope people feel safe to show up exactly as they are. Whether you’re having the best week or the hardest year, I hope Zenith feels like a moment of peace and love in the middle of the chaos. That’s the magic I’m chasing.
What's your favorite thing about NWA?
S: The community. NWA is such a vibrant, creative place — a hub for dreamers, builders, and doers. I wish every town had the kind of support and resources this area offers. There’s something really special about being a small business here.
What's your favorite small business (besides your own!!) and why?
S: My aunt owns a fitness business called Brooke Robinson Fit, and she’s the first person who encourages me to slow down and take care of myself. Her online classes are my favorite form of self-care — they’ve helped me reconnect with my body and prioritize wellness in a way that feels loving, not stressful.
